The weekend is almost here, there's loads of end-of-the-month events to hit on this Bank

Holiday (for those of you in the UK), and I'm almost sure that "taking it easy" isn't really going to be an option. No worries, though, as we have a weekend and one day to recover from all dance floor shenanigans! Now let's get on to our guest ....
For this weeks show I'm pretty damn proud to present a DJ from my hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Alain Baylon (http://Soundcloud.com/alainbaylon) has been holding it down in Sa-town for almost a decade. His sounds are rich in Latin flava', yet beat with the signature sounds of House that we've all loved throughout the years. I met Alain during my recent stay back home while I was waiting out my visa for the UK. He's the quiet one that stands at the bar listening to the DJ, nodding his head in appreciation. When he introduced himself to me his introduction lacked the "ride-his-own-balls" that I sometimes get from other DJs on the scene, and was yet filled with a deep humbleness that one appreciates. My boy, Big Rich, took me to one of his nights where I was able to see him work his crowd, and let me be the first to tell you that his dance floor was full from the moment he dropped the needle on his first track to very last beat he caned out. His delivery impressed, and his style left a lasting impression. Alain is a true lover of House music, and it shows. You can find him at his residency in San Antonio every week, playing around various spots in both Austin and Sa-town, and also on his weekly radio show, After Bedtime Radio (http://Digitalbeatradio.com), every Tuesday at 8pm CST. We will most definitely be asking Alain back for another round in the BCH booth, this time with an interview and another killer mix. Big up's to Alain for coming on and killin' it!
Radio (http://Digitalbeatradio.com) | Facebook (http://facebook.com/alainbaylon) | Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/abaylon) | SoundCloud (http://Soundcloud.com/alainbaylon) | MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/alainbaylon) (alainbaylon@hotmail.com)
Tune in next week as we welcome first time guest, DJ Dummy (http://www.djdummythegenius.com/about.html), to step into the BCH booth. Known as Dummy the Genius, there is no denying this man's showmanship as a DJ, his ear for music, and the way he can play anything set before him. No matter what genre. From world-wide stages, appearances on the Chappell show, and rockin' stages with Common for the last 11 years, his experience in the industry will prove worthy for all trying to break-into it. This is a show you do NOT want to miss out on. To RSVP for it, click here (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=88422800760&v=app_2344061033&ref=search#!/event.php?eid=134262496614414&index=1).
Till next week, Freaks, please be good to yourself. Remember, you're no good to anyone else if you ain't good to yourself first. Also, be safe this holiday weekend. We'll see you next week - same time same place.

Good evening, good People!
I'm still on a nice high from our special surprise guest DJ, Paz (http://soundcloud.com/paz). I cleverly snagged Paz up after a 6hr beat-down at a party Saturday night, after his set left me wondering how I could get him to stay in London till Wednesday. I mean he was here, I live here, and he was doing nothing on the night that I do my show and, well ... it was practically written in the stars that he play on BCH, right?
Coming from a background that's stacked deep with a love of all genre's of music, Paz has been on the decks for a decade and a half. His Love of House music took him from his hometown in Canada all the way to the new urban of Dubai, where he steadily can be found rockin' floors of the some of the best clubs. I was introduced to Paz through the duo Smokingroove (http://www.smokingroove.com/), and from his 1st drop couldn't pull myself away from the way he was playing. With seamless mixing and a track selection that had me jackin for 6hrs straight, I'm just gonna lay it on like this: The man knows his isshhhh!! Seeing as I pulled him in on a total unplanned whim, Paz will be making an official return to BCH in January. Complete with interview and full mix, Paz will be back in full-on guest mode. If you can't wait till January, you can always check out Paz on his weekly radio shows which air wed. & sat. on InTheMix (http://inthemix.me/). Of course, you can always find his productions - which range from House to Drum and Bass - on Mixtura Records (http://www.mixturarecords.com) and other various labels (http://www.discogs.com/artist/Paz). Paz is true talent that we can't wait to have back on BCH!

Tune in next week as we welcome DJ, Alain Baylon (San Antonio). He's skilled and a kick-ass DJ. I don't think I need to say much more than that.
Till next week, Freaks, keep your head up and keep it movin'.

Good afternoon Everyone!
This week's show is coming at you from a peak! First off, sorry it's coming at you so late and, second, after hearing our boy Ryan I don't even think you're going to mind it being so late! So let's get on to it ...
This weeks guest, Ryan Scott (http://ryanscott.beatmaven.com/), is one of Chicago's best kept secrets. And I don't say that lightly either. Ryan has been beating it down around the Chi for the last decade as one half of the duo, TwoDeep, and most recently on his own. He's set to release his first solo EP on Revolutionary Music, as well as remixes for a few labels under TwoDeep (http://www.twodeep.net). In his interview you'll hear about his love of Disco and why Pink Floyd is still one of his most influential bands from his days as a shorty. When it comes to his mix, Honey, you'll find yourself making this a soundtrack for some of your best days out in the streets. I had it bumping yesterday as I ran around the Lo with an mindful of errands and, let me tell you, the only time I forced myself to put it on pause was when I had to answer a question. It's infectious, hip-moving, and falls nothing short of excellent. TRUST ME!!

Due to recording issues, Ryan's is the only mix this week. His mix is enough, though, let me tell you that you will not be disappointed!
Till next week, keep it Freaky and ALWAYS keep it moving forward!
Freak Freely and Enjoy Music,
Sista

Good Evening Everybody!
Tonight's show brings you one of London's best known secrets. He raises roofs, body temperatures, and stakes when it comes to wreckin' shop on dance floors. And his choice of cuts will get any body moving at any time of the evening, morning, or afternoon. What attracts me to this DJs style is his delivery of groove. His blends are flawless, and his mixing seems to come as 2nd nature as breathing. The DJ in question is, Raymundo Rodriguez, and if you weren't familiar before today's show you most definitely will be after.
On the decks for 20 years now, the last 3 years has found Raymundo honing in on his production skills. With releases on Electric Sheep (www.electricsheeprecordings.co.uk/), Endemic Digital, Cubism (http://soundcloud.com/cubism-records), Lekker Records, and Black and White Orange Records (http://www.myspace.com/blackwhiteorangerecords), Raymundo is getting nods of praise from industry heavy-hitters like Tony Humphries, Nick Warren, and Laurent Garnier to name a few. With a steady focus on production for the remainder of 2010, you can bet that by 2011 the racks will be hustlin' with Raymundo originals. So what's next for this cat? Find out in the interview, y'all ... because you can bet that you'll be hearing his name more and more. For those of you in the Lo you can catch Raymundo holdin' it down at Jaded @Cable, one of London's longest running after-hours party's for the dancers that just can't seem to get enough. Peep out his pages for his world-wide gigs, because you can be sure that he'll be wreckin' shop on a dance floor near you soon enough!
Tune in next week as we welcome one of Chicago's best kept secret, Ryan Scott (http://ryanscott.beatmaven.com/). Known around the way as one half of the duo TwoDeep (http://www.myspace.com/twodeepmusic), Ryan has been steadily cuttin' his teeth on the Chi scene over the last decade. He's new to the Production arena with releases on Revolutionary Music (http://www.revolutionarymusic.com/), but a strong staple on the decks. Help us give our boy a huge BCH welcome!
Till next week, Friends, Fam, and Freaks, keep it moving ... always. Keep. It. Moving. We'll see you next week!
Freak Freely and Enjoy Music,

Good Evening Everyone!

Hope you're doing well and floating right along on this Thursday evening. Last night's show was such a feel-good kinda show that, I swear, I'm still nursing soar feet from dancing around the studio. We had our great friends, and Family, the HouseMates over for a bit of a mid-week get-down. I mean, you know how we like to do when it comes to having a mid-week freak ... we go all out! We had the party, the music, the hostesses, plenty of Love, B-B-Q, peanut-butter (dont' ask), and a crazy chat room! All that was really missing was a beach, non-stop frozen capris, and a sun-spotted cabana with a beachfront view. But who are we to complain? When you've got the company that we had last night, nothing else really matters .... and let's get on to them, shall we?
In a very short time 2 ladies that call themselves, HouseMates (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=73909398441&ref=search), have found themselves moving up in the music. What started as an interest was stemmed from life-long love of music. They built up the courage to follow their hearts desire, and then picked up a very bad pair of decks. It was almost 3 years ago when they'd made the decision to learn to spin. It was 2 years ago that they started to take it seriously. And it was a little over a year ago that Chicago House FM (http://www.chicagohousefm.co.uk/) offered them a weekly radio show (which they accepted and promptly named after themselves). Since then they haven't looked back. Oh sure they're still running a house with kids, daily "mom" duties, gigs in town, a booking agency (http://www.kontroldjs.com), and juggling meetings - but don't let that fool you - they're dedication to their craft is serious. You can hear it for yourself every Saturday at 6pm GMT, only on CHFM radio. I suggest arriving early so you can be there for the shenanigans from beginning to end. HouseMates know how to give great HOUSE!
Tune in next week as we welcome London's late-night child, Raymundo Rodriguez (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#!/group.php?gid=5398848465&ref=ts). DJ/Producer on the scene, this man has been making steady moves in the London underground. You can usually catch him at 4am beating it out somewhere in this country, and we're just glad to have caught him for a minute of his crazy hectic life. This will be his first time stepping in the BCH Booth, y'all, so help me give him a huge BCH welcome!

Till next week, keep it catchy and by all means keep it freaky! Heh, Freak Freely, y'all!
Enjoy Music,

<itunes:summary>It's 11:31 in the pm ... Renny, friend, MrHun, and I are chilling .. and Family Guy's playing in the background. After a dinner of fried chicken, House music, chips, hot wings, and beer we're experiencing a serious coma and are unable to move. Looking back, it was a great evening of beats in this House tonight. It's amazing at how much the atmosphere changes when you have a guest in the studio for a live show, not to mention how hype the mind gets when another element is tossed into it.

So let's get down to our guest, Renny Constantine ...

Hailing from the Bristol, UK, this DJ was never one to be late or lazy when it comes to opportunities knocking. He took a few days from his busy life of many hats (business man, contributing editor for Eyezine (http://www.eyezine.co.uk/a/music/Sista-Stroke-Interview-198.html), and all-over-the-world-playing DJ) just to come to all the Lo to kick it and bring us a personal boogie-shake-down of crispy House! Now I don't know about you but, where I come from that's mad mad mad Love for the music. Once he took to the decks, Renny came at us with with all styles that fall under the umbrella of House Music. He went bouncy, he threw us some funk, he threw us some frenzy acid, and all tunes were layered heavily in chunk. His vibe didn't break once he jumped off, and the vibe was running thick in the BCH booth! Yes, Friends, Fam, and Freaks, we can't wait to have Renny back with us!!

Tune in next week as we welcome HouseMates (http://soundcloud.com/pootzandperkin)! Hailing from the Midlands, UK, this duo has been steadily keepin' on the beats since they first got the bug and put the needle to groove a couple of years ago. Now, with a weekly radio show, new residency, and new artist booking agency to run, we're lucky enough to catch them taking a breath. Next week you'll hear for yourself why these 2 ladies are moving up the from-your-lips-to-my-ears category.

Before I let you go, I'd like to pass on 2 new articles from my blog (http://sistastroke.blogspot.com). Pt.1 is "Beware Shady Promoters (http://sistastroke.blogspot.com/2010/07/taken-from-event-promoters-guide-to.html)" and Pt.2 is "DJs & Artists: Tips In Avoiding The Shady Booking" (http://sistastroke.blogspot.com/2010/07/djs-artists-tips-in-avoiding-shady.html). There for those of you that have found yourself in an uncomfortable spot of having to chase a promoter to get paid. Hopefully, this article can help you avoid that.

Till next week, Freaks and Friends - LIVE LIFE!!!! And Freak Freely.

 <itunes:summary>Good Afternoon!!

This show is coming to you a on a "next day" alert, but for great reasons! I've been busy, ha ha ha! Seriously, I had some server issues with Virgin, and then got caught up in listening to last nights show all over again. We were supposed to have a guest, but prior commitments kept him at school and unable to be here. So with that said, Daniel Allen will be back in November stacked with tunes for all our delights! Now, on to last nights show...
I chose Remixes as the theme, but I think somewhere along the way I lost my way and just went with what I was feeling. I ended up showcasing some of the newest tunes from artists and labels such as Midwest Hustle (http://www.myspace.com/midwesthustlemusic), J Service, Chris Quadrant, Homero Espinosa, J. Caprice, Jackie & Banana Groovz, Frankie Soukal, Greenbay Jackers, and of course, Freaky Behavior ( a producing duo from 2009 that are still my fav's). But I also gave you guys a 'throw-back' to some remixes/boots that shook floors back in the day. I truly hope you enjoy last night's show and keep it in your ears for your trips to work, or on the train, walking around town, etc. I can fully guarantee that it'll put a bounce in whatever you're doing!
Tune in next week as we welcome back BCH's first ever guest Bristol's own child of the beat, Renny Constantine (http://www.facebook.com/renny.constantine). He's a constant on the Bristol scene, and even a fellow CHFM radio show host. But to this lady he's been a friend for years. Renny will be bringing his signature tech house sound straight to your ears, and eyes. That's right, he'll be live in the BCH booth and we'll be broadcasting the show (video only) on our page on ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sistastroke). You can still chat along with us in the CHFM room, and the party will be extra hype because Renny be in zeee House!
Till then, keep it freaky and make sure you put some extra bounce to that ounce! Freak Freely, Fam!
Enjoy Music,

<itunes:summary>With the current heat wave hitting the western part of the world, with a fierce sweltering I might add, I'm happy to report that today's show is forecast for HOT! Our guest, D_VO, really added to the scorcha' that most of you are already sweating through, so I highly recommend dressing light and airy for today's BCH offering.

D_VO is the newest up-and-coming talent to emerge out of Chicago. For this 22 year old, his life and soul revolves around music. Literally. Settling in to his new role of "Streetbeat's Music Director" for Chicago's WNUR Radio, this new-jack has been steadily making a name for himself. He's the first to admit that he's only been DJing for 2 years and that he's still got much to learn; however, after hearing his mix yesterday I can be the first to tell you that there is nothing "new" about the way this DJ takes on a mix. When it comes to the skills on deck, this DJ can build. I was impressed. But it was his interview that really impressed. Raised by Disco-loving parents, his musical history reaches back into time. And without ruining any part of his interview for you all I'm going to say is this: He's grounded, humble, focused on what he wants, and very, very talented. With this kind of drive I expect that we'll be hearing this DJs name for some time to come. BCH Fam, Freaks, and Friends, I give you D_VO!
Tune in next week as we welcome Daniel Allen! One-half of Austin duo, Backseat Bingo, we've watched Daniel in-the-make since the early 90's back in Houston, TX. He's got one hell of an ear when it comes to Music, with a style of House that just won't quit. So keep that fan close, because Daniel is packing nothing but heaters!
We'll see you next week, Fam ... till then, you know the deal: Freak Freely!
Enjoy Music,
Sista

 <itunes:summary>Good morning!!
This weeks show was cut a little short due to some technical difficulties that I was having with my power-pak last night. So instead of a full 2hrs you have about an hour and half of some feel-good tunes from Artists such as Kelly Sylvia (soundcloud.com/kellysylvia/), Tsigarinho (soundcloud.com/tsigarinho), and Marsh & Wonder (http://www.phunkopathic.com). But the 2nd hour was full of nothing but some uplifting, feel-good sounds courtesey of our guest, Stacy Kidd.

Stacy is one of the most versatile DJs today, and can keep a party going from dusk till dawn. Whether he's beating out the soulful sounds of inspiration or beating the box silly with his brand of Funky House, trust when I say that you will find it hard to leave his floor. On the prodcution tip he's worked with some of the best in the industry! Louie Vega, Terry Hunter, DJ Sneak, Roger Sanchez, Kenny Dope,Mark Farina, and Barbara Tucker are just a few of the artists that he's done remix work for. And when it comes to releases you can find his sounds on Defected, Hudd Traxx, Dance Mania, Warner Music, Camouflage, After Midnight, Basement Boys (one of my all-time fav labels ever), Moody, and Kenlou/MAW Records, just to name a few. His sound has remained a constant in-demand since the 90's, and he's taken it up a notch with his launch of his own label, fittingly titled, House 4 Life Records. His busy schedule hindered us from getting a proper interview this time around but, no worries, we WILL be asking him back in the fall around the time of his album release so we can do it right!
Stacy's offered up a spiritual, jazzy days sorta feelin' of some pretty damn great House. This mix is highly recommended for those moments when you need that little extra extra to pick-up and keep pushin' on. Of course, you could always do what I did and kick-start your day with coffee and a Stacy Kidd mix ;)
Tune in next week as we welcome up-and-coming DJ, D_VO. Newly crowned Program Director for Chicago's WNUR (http://wnur.org), this guy has been busy feeding listeners a steady diet of great music for the past year with his bi-weekly show, “Rhythm Mechanics”, and plans to keep it moving as long as they'll allow him. We've been planning this show for 3 months now, and once you hear D_VO, you'll hear for yourself why we thought it was so important to showcase this DJ and the music he's slangin'.
Till next week, Freak, Friends, and Fam, take care of yourself and make sure you get out and enjoy the fantastic HOT weather that we're being blessed with. And if you can't do that, then at least find the nearest dance floor and werk!!
Enjoy Music and Freak Freely,

Good Afternoon Freaks and Fam!
As I sit here listening to the playback on the show, I can't help but wonder where the last year went. This Friday marks the 1st year anniversary of the death o f Michael Jackson. I'm almost willing to bet that clubs around the world will be saturated with MJ tributes, as well ... Here at the BCH, though, I had to play something that would let you - the Listener and the Dancer - know that MJ has never been far from my ears. So expect to hear a few MJ remixes, and even an original.

But on to the real juicy part of today's show, and that is our resident, DJ John Simmons. He's brought back his signature shimmy to our hips, with a dash of some spiritual uplifting sounds that we can all use in our lives. Never one to let us down, John did his thing and did it damn well now that we're talking about it. The word 'flawless' comes to mind whenever I hear John playing (and trust me, it's more times than I can count!); he's unlike a lot of DJs I've had the pleasure of hearing for one reason: He's consistently made me dance. That, Freaks and Fam, is why he will always be a part of our BCH Family.
Tune in next week as we welcome DJ/Producer, Stacy Kidd. He's been a staple in the House scene for over 2 decades, with numerous releases on such labels as Defected and remixes for artists such as Masters At Work. With no signs of slowing down, Stacy is a non-stoppa'!! You do not want to miss this show!
Till next week, keep your head up and keep it movin'! Life is too short to be bogged down with the little sh*t. Ya' feel me? We'll see you next week, Freaks and Fam! Same time, same place (http://chicagohousefm.com). Freak Freely!
Enjoy Music,
Sista
